The idea was to create a monument which can attract people and mediate their interaction while
transferring a meaning too: How a solid and concrete object can be transformed into a transparent and intimate one via people? Melting the ice by interaction!
The monument consists of a cubic combination of frames with flexible smaller boxes that can be rotated around vertical bars. The cubes are made of recycled plastics which mimic the shape of ice. People can spin the boxes in terms to enter the cube and create more space and view of the sea. More people use the space more transparent and welcoming the cube becomes. To build the monument, local timbers and PETE plastic (recycled plastic) are used and to provide the power for lighting, 4 solar panels are installed on top. Users can move and turn the lower boxes to make chair or tables for themselves.
